Truly hand-painted
Pencil outline, coloured glazes, kiln fire — not mass-produced transfers. Every mug, jug and dish is one of a kind.
Handmade in Saxmundham, Suffolk
I hand paint ceramics — countryside wild flowers, beach huts and fishing boats from the Suffolk coast.
Meet the artist
Artist & owner of Hannah Berridge ceramics
I hand-paint ceramics, and I love what I do. My pieces come from my studio in Suffolk and reflect the countryside and seaside towns around me — beach huts and fishing boats from Aldeburgh, wild flowers from the fields and verges.
I hand paint ceramics from my studio in Suffolk and ship to customers all over the world.
Our story
01 How it started
Most ceramics you can buy elsewhere use transfers — mass-produced designs simply applied and fired. Hannah’s work starts with a pencil outline on each blank piece, then is painted by hand with coloured glazes, sometimes in several stages, before its final firing in her kiln.
That produces bright, shiny, permanent colours — and both the designs and each individual piece are unique. No two are ever exactly the same.
— Hannah
02 Where & how it’s made
Blanks are sourced from English makers; Hannah outlines, paints, glazes and kiln-fires every piece in her home studio, then packs each order by hand.
03 What makes it special
Pencil outline, coloured glazes, kiln fire — not mass-produced transfers. Every mug, jug and dish is one of a kind.
Beach huts, fishing boats from Aldeburgh, and wild flowers from the fields — motifs drawn from the landscape around the studio.
Each order arrives in a brown cardboard box tied with coloured string and a personally designed gift tag you can write on — or Hannah can add a message for you.
